The Shreveport Bar Association (SBA) is a thriving, dynamic, professional organization that welcomes attorneys in all areas of the Law. We are dedicated to serving our members, and the community at large. Currently the SBA has over 600 members.

The SBA provides educational, networking, social, and community programs and events that are beneficial to all attorneys in our region. It is also a forum for meeting other attorneys in other practice areas. A membership in our Bar is something you can be proud of, and comes at an affordable cost. From social events to CLE classes and community volunteer opportunities, your membership will open doors. You will find it a rewarding experience, and we look forward to serving you.

Our Lawyer Referral Service is provided as a community service to assist the public in finding an attorney.  A referral through this site will enable a low-cost initial consultation with an attorney (not discount or free legal assistance).

The SBA offers extensive opportunities for high quality Seminars in Shreveport/Bossier City. You may also receive required credits via our Online CLE courses.  Interesting and Relevant topics for professional growth and approved CLE credit.

The Shreveport Bar Foundation (SBF) acts as the charitable arm of the Shreveport Bar Association. In this capacity, the Foundation board and its volunteers fundraise through various events and then make annual grant donations to local charities. Past recipients include the Martin Luther King Health Center, Volunteers for Youth Justice, Habitat for Humanity, Soldiers of Compassion, Pool of Siloam and Literacy Volunteers at Centenary College. Organizations who would like to be considered for funding should submit a grant application for consideration. Click here to download the grant request.

The Shreveport Bar Foundation also operates the Pro Bono Project (PBP) in Caddo and Bossier Parishes (f/k/a Northwest Louisiana Pro Bono Project). The Pro Bono Project provides free legal assistance by volunteer attorneys in civil matters for qualified indigent and low-income Caddo and Bossier Parish residents. Lawyers in private practice volunteer through the Pro Bono Project to take cases for individual clients who qualify based on Federal Poverty Income Guidelines. Hundreds of people with serious legal problems that affect their health, safety, shelter or income are assisted by volunteer attorneys annually. More information is available by calling 318-221-8107.
